Move Trust Hub Trust Center
Independent directory — not affiliated with listed movers. We do not sell leads or match you with carriers. This is the canonical methodology destination for reputation scores, review policy, FMCSA data use, independence, and how we vet listings. County and profile pages link here instead of repeating long boilerplate.
What is FMCSA? FMCSA is the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration — the U.S. agency that licenses interstate movers. Licensed by the U.S. Department of Transportation for interstate (state-to-state) moves.
How we vet our movers
Move Trust Hub is a curated research directory. Before a mover earns a verified listing, we apply the checks below using public FMCSA data and editorial filters.
- 1Valid USDOT and MC numbers
We require a real USDOT number that passes format checks. Placeholder, sequential, or fabricated numbers are excluded from the public directory.
- 2Active operating authority
For verified listings we confirm the carrier shows active interstate authority in public FMCSA SAFER data (not revoked or inactive).
- 3Insurance on file (FMCSA)
Interstate authority generally requires cargo and liability insurance on file with FMCSA. We surface safety/authority status from SAFER so you can re-check before booking.
- 4No active federal out-of-service order
Carriers flagged out of service or with critical authority alerts are not presented as “FMCSA Verified.” Serious SAFER flags are highlighted when we detect them.
- 5Curated listings — not a raw scrape
We do not dump every name from public web scrapes. Listings must pass license checks; many region placeholders and generated template IDs are filtered out of public rankings.
- 6Attributed reviews kept separate
Named Google review excerpts we publish are counted honestly and never mixed with industry-wide review totals from third-party sites.
This is a curated research directory — not a raw scrape of every company name on the internet. You should still re-verify USDOT authority on FMCSA.gov before booking.
Reputation Score (0–100)
Our Reputation Score is an editorial composite (0–100) — not a simple star average. Scores above 85 generally indicate safer interstate choices. We never fabricate reviews or inflate ratings.
- 30%Review volume & recency
Named, attributable reviews with enough volume to be meaningful. We prioritize recent feedback from the last 24 months.
- 25%FMCSA safety & complaints
USDOT authority status, safety rating, and complaint-to-shipment ratio from public FMCSA records.
- 15%Years in business
Operating history and stability for interstate household goods moves.
- 15%BBB accreditation
Accreditation status and letter grade where publicly available.
- 15%Customer trend signals
Recent rating trajectory and consistency across review sources.
Scores at or above 85 generally indicate safer interstate choices. We recalculate when FMCSA data refreshes or new attributable reviews are published. Scores are editorial composites — not star averages.
Review policy
Move Trust Hub shows third-party ratings only as labeled external references with outbound links, and hosts moderated community submissions separately. Industry-reported volumes are never mixed into schema.org AggregateRating or Review markup.

Industry-reported volume
Industry-reported volume from third-party platforms — not verified on Move Trust Hub.
Display-only context on directory cards — never mixed into AggregateRating schema.Named Google customer review excerpts we publish on Move Trust Hub with reviewer attribution — not industry-wide totals and not written by the movers.
Independence & paid rankings
Move Trust Hub is an independent research directory. We do not sell leads to movers, accept paid placements for higher rankings, or boost scores for advertising partners. Contact tools help you reach carriers you choose — we are not a quote marketplace.
Data sources & limitations
- FMCSA provides licensing, authority, and safety context — not consumer pricing tables or star ratings.
- Local cost ranges on county pages are editorial estimates from market research, not government price data.
- Google Places and BBB snapshots can lag or mismatch; always re-check official sources before booking.
- Reputation Score is an editorial composite, not a substitute for multiple written estimates and in-person diligence.
Corrections & updates
Found outdated licensing, a wrong DBA, or a listing that should be removed? Contact editorial or use company claim/portal flows when available. We refresh FMCSA fields on a scheduled cadence and revalidate county/directory pages after publish events. Named researchers are listed on the editorial team page.
Data Sources & Freshness
We pull licensing, safety ratings, and complaint data from the public FMCSA SAFER system. Each company profile shows a dated sync note. Editorial ratings combine third-party research — always verify before booking.
